Picking out your day to day outfits can already be a challenge. So I’ve compiled a few things to consider when planning outfits.
What Should We Wear?
Stay FAR away from clothing with big logos, words or distracting colors. You want your pictures to be about you two as a couple. Neutral colors and simple patterns are your best friend.
Please for the love of God leave the super matchy matchy outfits at home, and try wearing colors that compliment.
Ok, So What Do You Mean by Compliment?
It’s simple! Find a color you both like in different shades. Don’t underestimate the power of neutral colors (Think: cream, beige, green, pink, blue light gray)
Keep your Engagement Session Location in Mind
Take into consideration the location we will be shooting in. If your session is in the fall or winter in New England girl! Don’t forget to bring those layers. Wearing legging or packing an extra sweater will keep you warm and focused on your shoot.
Ladies if you insist on wearing heels (which is totally fine) think about bringing more comfortable shoes to walk in when we are walking from spot to spot.
What about Extra Outfits?
Most of my couples bring two outfits. Something casual, something fancy is a good rule of thumb. Over three different outfits will really cut into our shoot time.
Two things to keep in mind whatever you end up bringing you will have to carry and keep track of during the shoot. And there’s a good chance you’ll be changing outfits in the woods or back seat of your car…so don’t make it too complicated.
Bonus Tip: Ladies If you want to go for a romantic look, long and flowy is the way to go.
What it all comes down to is wear what you feel comfortable, confident and best in. If you’re dressed like you’re both headed to the same event that’s a great start. You know yourself best, trust and go with your gut.
ALSOOO Ladies! if you want your makeup professionally done, think about scheduling your wedding day make up trial the day of your engagement session (two birds).
